Wild writing

I recently read The Animal Dialogues: Uncommon Encounters in the Wild by Craig Childs. It is a great book about the author's encounters with wild animals of all kinds. Craig Childs writes really well about his outdoor experiences and the experiences he writes about are quite interesting themselves, so this was a great book. The stories are also very informative about the animals in question. If you are kind of outdoorsy, adventurous, go on hikes, or just want to learn more about animals out there in a not-so-dry kind of way, you should read this one.

Not all of the stories/encounters in the book are this touching, but here's a good example of Mr. Childs' great writing from this book: Seeing Deer (from OrionMagazine.org.)
